The Gun Violence Surge & Ways To Help
Gun violence remains the leading cause of premature death in the United States. In 2020, nearly 20,000 Americans were killed as a result of gun violence, more than any other year in over the past two decades. From July 1st to August 1st of this year an unacceptable amount of families and communities were decimated by gun violence:
- Illinois 17 shootings
- Texas 10 shootings
- California 7 shootings
- Ohio 6 Shootings
- Pennsylvania 6 shootings
- South Carolina 5 Shootings
- Michigan 3 Shootings
- New York 3 Shootings
- Louisiana 3 Shootings
Too many tragedies have been experienced both individually and collectively – it’s time for senseless gun violence to be put to an end,we need a safer place to call home.
A few steps you can take now to stand up against the terror of gun violence:
- Contact your representatives and tell them that you support universal background checks
- Volunteer at your local gun violence prevention organization
- Educate others and share resources
- Donate to or join organizations that fight to end gun violence
KROST X March For Our Lives
March For Our Lives focuses on an important mission to “ harness the power of young people across the country to fight for sensible gun violence prevention policies that save lives.” With 300 chapters all around the US, MFOL seeks to effectively eliminate gun violence through education, policy-making, informative sessions, and much much more. Our partnership with March for Our Lives gives us the opportunity to help make a difference and stand up to the current gun violence epidemic. Our goal is to increase awareness surrounding this incredible organization while supporting them financially through ongoing collaborative initiatives. To date, we’ve successfully supported over 250 local MFOL chapters.
